Nicole Ela focuses her practice on intellectual property and litigation matters. She joined WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2024 and returned as an associate in 2025.

During law school, Ms. Ela was a law clerk with a Denver-based employment firm where she drafted employment litigation briefs and complaints. Ms. Ela also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Sarah Wallace of the Second Judicial District in Denver and as an intern for the Department of Commerce’s General Counsel’s Office in Washington DC, where she supported the Commercial Law Development Program.

Prior to law school, Ms. Ela worked in the aerospace industry where she engaged in a variety of aircraft and spacecraft projects. Ms. Ela worked on production of the F-35 fighter jet. Her later work focused on designing and testing scientific instruments for atmospheric and solar physics research.
