Lucia Bizikova is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department and a member of the International Arbitration Practice Group. Her practice focuses on commercial and investment treaty arbitration. Ms. Bizikova has represented clients from different sectors including energy, mining, manufacturing, telecommunications, construction, and sports and entertainment, in institutional and ad hoc arbitrations under a variety of arbitral rules, including LCIA, ICC, SCC, ICSID and UNCITRAL.

Ms. Bizikova regularly publishes articles on international arbitration. She is a co-editor of the English and French editions of a textbook on private international law, The Global Private International Law: Adjudication without Frontiers. She is also a member of the LIDW NextGen subcommittee, which co-organizes events as part of the annual London International Disputes Week (LIDW) that are tailored and targeted towards junior practitioners.

Prior to joining WilmerHale, Ms. Bizikova worked as an associate in the arbitration team of a leading international firm in London. 

Experience

    • Represented a Cypriot investor in an ICSID arbitration against Armenia arising out of an investment in the mining sector.
    • Represented Austrian banks against an Eastern European State in ICSID arbitrations arising out of the retroactive conversion of loans from CHF into EUR.
    • Represented a cellulose manufacturing company in three parallel multibillion US $ arbitrations under the ICC Rules, arising from an M&A transaction in Brazil.
