Louisa Salmon is a counsel in the Litigation/Controversy Department, and is a member of the International Arbitration Practice Group. Ms. Salmon is an English barrister and her practice focuses on international arbitration and commercial litigation. 

Ms. Salmon has represented clients under a variety of institutional rules (including ICC, LCIA, LMAA and UNCITRAL rules) and has represented clients in numerous disputes in the High Court in London. She has particular experience in complex multi-jurisdictional litigation, energy, joint venture, and general commercial disputes. 

 

Experience

    • Successfully representing a Middle Eastern state entity in a consolidated US$1.4 billion LCIA dispute against a UK-domiciled international energy company relating to the termination of two Production Sharing Contracts in the Middle Eastern state of our client. 
    • Representing a major energy company with respect to a $2.1 billion LCIA dispute arising out of the construction of an offshore windfarm. 
    • Representing a Middle Eastern state entity with regards to a series of contractual disputes with downstream oil traders. The disputes have geo-political significance for the flow of oil through the Middle Eastern region. 
    • Representing a Middle Eastern state entity with regards to a $140 million ICC dispute with respect to the construction and operation of a power plant under a Concession Agreement. 
    • Representing a major mining company in a US$ 1 billion ICC arbitration sited in London concerning the performance of a supply and purchase agreement.
