John Murphy focuses his practice on complex litigation matters. He began his career at WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2024 and joined the firm full-time in 2025. Mr. Murphy previously worked as a summer associate at another law firm, where he conducted legal research and drafted memoranda on intellectual property issues, including overseas inducement of US patent infringement and patent family priority chains.

Before entering the legal field, Mr. Murphy worked as an operations engineer at a precision cleaning company, where he implemented production process improvements and conducted quality testing. He also worked as an assistant project manager at a construction company, creating build-out schedules and managing supplier and budget logs.
