Irene Xu focuses her practice on complex intellectual property litigation. Her practice covers all phases of litigation, including pre-suit investigations, fact and expert discovery, claim construction, summary judgment, trial, post-trial proceedings, and appeals. Ms. Xu has represented clients in patent disputes involving a wide range of technologies, including medical devices, semiconductor and hardware, and software and digital platforms. Drawing on her engineering background, she helps clients navigate sophisticated technical and legal issues in high-stakes litigation.

Ms. Xu joined WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2021. While in Law school, she worked at the Cornell Law School Gender Justice Clinic. Prior to law school, Ms. Xu worked as an engineering team lead at a semiconductor company in the Bay Area, where she managed engineers developing thermal management solutions for gas distribution systems.
