Emily F. Gomez
Counsel
Emily F. Gomez is a counsel in the firm’s Securities and Financial Services department and a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement practice group. Her practice focuses on complex securities enforcement and litigation matters, as well as internal investigations. Her experience includes representing public companies, financial institutions, and accounting firms in enforcement actions before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and state securities regulators. In addition to her government-facing practice, Ms. Gomez assists clients in conducting sensitive internal investigations, including alleged accounting and financial reporting matters, potential fraud, and whistleblower reports. Ms. Gomez also represents companies and individuals in complex civil litigation matters.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Ms. Gomez served as a law clerk to the Honorable John R. Fisher of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. She also served as an intern in the Office of the Solicitor General at the DOJ.
