Dominik Hotz
Senior Associate
Dominik Hotz focuses his practice on white-collar criminal defense, regulatory enforcement, internal investigations and corporate compliance.
He advises domestic and international companies, boards of directors, and senior executives on managing the legal, operational and reputational risks associated with government enforcement and regulatory scrutiny. He has successfully counseled clients in proceedings before German public prosecutors, German tax authorities and other domestic and foreign regulatory bodies as well as in cross-border matters involving US and European enforcement agencies.
He has significant experience in designing and executing internal investigations, including overseeing complex fact-finding exercises, coordinating multi-jurisdictional efforts, and developing tailored remediation strategies.
He also advises on corporate compliance monitorships, supports monitors and assists clients in understanding monitorship requirements. More broadly, he assists clients in navigating the compliance landscape with an emphasis on identifying risk, strengthening controls and enhancing day-to-day regulatory readiness.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, he worked for several years in the white-collar defense, investigations and compliance practice of a leading international law firm in Berlin. Before being admitted to the bar, he worked, inter alia, at the Regional Court and Public Prosecutor’s Office in Konstanz and at a leading law firm specializing in criminal case appeals before the German Federal Court of Justice and the German Federal Constitutional Court.
