Brooke Pinkerton is Deputy General Counsel of WilmerHale, and is a special counsel in the Litigation/Controversy Department. 

Ms. Pinkerton focuses her practice in the areas of professional responsibility and ethics. She is dedicated almost exclusively to counseling the firm, its lawyers and other personnel on legal ethics matters. She is responsible for the firm's New Business/Conflicts Department, which has a broad risk management platform. As a member of the Office of General Counsel, she helps develop and implement the firm's ethics policies and procedures and other compliance-related best practices, including presenting training and continuing legal education programs.

Ms. Pinkerton rejoined the firm in 2006 as a member of the Office of General Counsel. From 1991–2006 she was an associate and partner at another firm in Washington, DC, where she built a diverse litigation practice focused on civil and commercial cases. Her clients included law firms, lawyers and other professionals whom she advised on malpractice, professional responsibility and ethics matters. She tried numerous cases in state and federal courts, and counseled companies, organizations and individuals on employment matters. Prior to graduating from law school, Ms. Pinkerton was a general litigation legal assistant at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering. During high school and college she worked for two America's Cup syndicates.

Ms. Pinkerton is a member of the firm's Ethics Committee, Business Intake Approval Committee and Information Security Working Group, and she is active in the firm's Women's Leadership Initiative. Ms. Pinkerton is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland, and before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia and Maryland, the United States Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia and the Fourth Circuits, and the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
