Alaa Hachem is an associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department and a member of the International Arbitration Practice Group. Her practice focuses on commercial and investment treaty arbitration.

Previously, Ms. Hachem served as a judicial fellow at the International Court of Justice for HE Judge Sarah H. Cleveland. She has also carried out investigations and legal analysis related to human rights and international law. Her experience includes work with the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Lowenstein International Human Rights Clinic, where she conducted legal analysis on issues involving armed conflict, detention and migration. 

She is a co-author of articles published in the New York Law Review, Columbia Journal of Transnational Law and Just Security.
