  • PerkinElmer — sale of detection systems business to L-3 Communications — $100 million
  • Raytheon — sale of aircraft modification and integration business to L-3 Communications — $1.1 billion
  • Sigma Systems — acquisition by Liberate Technologies — $62 million
  • SilverStream Software — acquisition by Novell — $221 million
  • SkillSoft — merger with SmartForce — $413 million
  • Staples — acquisition of Medical Arts Press — $385 million
  • Varian Semiconductor — sale of equity interest in Lam Research Corporation — $28 million
  • Williams Companies — sale of Cove Point LNG facility to Dominion Resources — $217 million
