Excerpt: For now, U.S. companies can count on one hand the states with comprehensive privacy laws. On April 29, 2022, Connecticut’s legislators delivered the fifth law with a 180-5 bipartisan flourish. All five go into effect in 2023. To some companies, five may seem a handful, and to many others, broad agreement among the five (2023 Laws) establishes a de facto national standard for privacy.
