The American Lawyer Names Kimberly Parker to “45 Under 45” List of Leading Women Lawyers

Client News

WilmerHale Partner Kimberly Parker has been named one of the 45 leading women lawyers under 45 years of age in the January 2011 issue of The American Lawyer. This issue of the magazine profiles each of the 45 women, recognizing significant achievements at a notably young age.

Parker is a partner in WilmerHale’s Litigation/Controversy Department, a member of the Investigations and Criminal Litigation Practice Group, and co-chair of the firm’s Pro Bono and Community Service Committee. She joined the firm in 1998.

Parker’s practice includes the representation of clients in a range of criminal and enforcement matters, with an emphasis on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. She has conducted internal investigations across the globe and has represented companies and individuals in a variety of FCPA enforcement and other criminal matters. She regularly counsels clients facing difficult FCPA issues in a variety of business contexts, and assists clients in developing and implementing FCPA compliance programs and conducting FCPA training.

The American Lawyer’s profile on Parker notes her impressive work, including “the settlement she forged in 2009 for Helmerich & Payne, Inc., [which] earned plaudits from assistant attorney general Lanny Breuer, who said that the company’s 'forward-leaning, proactive, highly cooperative approach' earned it benefits it likely would not otherwise have obtained.”

The methodology of The American Lawyer’s “45 Under 45” contest included a call for nominations from various industry sources and The Am Law 200 firms, with a maximum of five nominations per firm. This was followed by an initial round of vetting and each finalist being screened via phone by an American Lawyer reporter, who reviewed each nominee’s record and called clients and opposing counsel.
