WilmerHale Partners Discuss Congressional Investigations with The Washington Post

Attorney News

In an article published November 3, 2026, WilmerHale partners Joel Green and Alyssa DaCunha told The Washington Post how the midterm elections could shape the congressional investigations landscape, advising businesses on how best to position themselves and what to watch for.

Green explained how a shift in congressional power could affect the focus of investigations, particularly for private companies. Historically, private entities have not been the initial focus following a change in power, he explained, but next year could bring intense, early attention to “private companies and corporations that intersected with President Trump and the executive branch agencies.”

DaCunha addressed the practical considerations companies may encounter when responding to congressional scrutiny, including navigating conversations with both Congress and the White House. She noted that congressional committees will need to prioritize where they devote their resources.

“At the end of the day, congressional committees have a lot of resources, but they don’t have unlimited resources,” DaCunha told The Washington Post. “So they’ll have to pick battles.”
