Please join us on Thursday, November 5 for a timely discussion of the midterm results and what they mean for your company.
Congress returns on November 9 with a compressed legislative calendar and a crowded agenda. Government funding is set to expire on December 11, and lawmakers must also negotiate a final defense authorization bill and address a pending supplemental funding request. Other significant issues, including crypto market structure legislation and Congress's role in trade policy, remain unresolved. Decisions made during the post-election session, together with the election results themselves, could change policy outcomes in 2027 and beyond.
Looking ahead to 2027, the election results will shape committee leadership, priorities, and the issues most likely to attract legislative and oversight attention, in what we expect will be an extremely active oversight environment. In some cases, lawmakers have started to lay the groundwork through information requests and other investigative activity. Organizations that assess the evolving landscape early will be better positioned to anticipate congressional priorities, prepare for potential inquiries, and respond effectively as legislative and oversight agendas take shape.
Our speakers have served in all three branches of government and regularly advise companies navigating complex legal, policy and reputational challenges. Drawing on that experience, they will discuss:
- the implications of the election results and any likely changes in leadership in the 120th Congress;
- the likely priorities for the 120th Congress, including potential oversight targets;
- the lame duck session: funding deadlines, must-pass legislation and dealmaking; and
- practical steps organizations can take to prepare for the months ahead.
Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions online during the webinar. This program is being planned with the intention to offer CLE credit for attendees who join the live presentation.
