WilmerHale Named a 2025 Compliance Practice Group of the Year by Law360

Recognition

WilmerHale was named a 2025 Law360 Compliance Practice Group of the Year, recognizing the firm’s success in guiding clients through complex, high‑stakes compliance matters, including government‑imposed monitorships and sensitive cross‑border investigations, at a time of heightened enforcement scrutiny.

The recognition follows Law360’s broader designation of WilmerHale as a 2025 Firm of the Year, highlighting the firm’s strength across six practice areas—including Appellate, Class Action, Compliance, Intellectual Property, Transportation and Trials—and its record of impactful legal work in 2025.

Law360 highlighted WilmerHale’s ability to combine compliance counseling, investigations, and enforcement defense to achieve meaningful outcomes for clients facing significant regulatory, financial, and reputational risk. The firm was recognized for helping clients make substantial investments in compliance programs and for translating those efforts into tangible results with government authorities, including the early termination of compliance monitorships and the resolution of long‑running investigations.

“Effective compliance requires more than responding to an issue after the fact—it means investing early, understanding root causes, and building programs that stand up to regulatory scrutiny,” said Kimberly Parker, vice chair of WilmerHale’s Litigation and Controversy Department and co‑chair of its White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice. “That approach puts our clients in the strongest possible position when engaging with enforcement authorities.”

WilmerHale was recognized for advising clients on a range of significant compliance matters, including:

  • Glencore PLC, in obtaining the early termination of a U.S. Department of Justice‑imposed compliance monitorship, marking the first time the DOJ had ended a monitorship early following a plea agreement related to alleged Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations.
  • GE HealthCare Technologies Inc., in connection with DOJ and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission investigations relating to operations in China, advising on remediation and compliance enhancements that ultimately satisfied the government and led to the closure of the investigations.

WilmerHale’s Compliance practice draws on the firm’s deep roots in white collar defense and investigations and includes lawyers with backgrounds in securities, finance, anti‑bribery and anti‑corruption, sanctions, anti‑money laundering, intellectual property, and data privacy. Many members of the team have prior experience in government, regulatory, or institutional roles, providing clients with valuable insight into enforcement priorities and compliance expectations. The practice spans the firm’s US and international offices and is supported by a deep bench of partners, counsel, and associates with experience advising on compliance programs at every stage.
