WilmerHale Partner Hal Leibowitz, the senior member of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions practice and former chair of the group, has been selected as a 2026 “Go To Business Transactions Lawyer” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. This prestigious honor highlights attorneys across the Commonwealth who exemplify leadership in their field and demonstrate a sustained history of professional excellence.

Leibowitz focuses his practice on corporate and securities law for companies in the life sciences, technology and services industries, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and public company counseling. He regularly advises clients and boards of directors on acquisitions and dispositions of public and private companies, tender offers, exchange offers and going‑private transactions.

In addition to his client work, Leibowitz previously served as chair of WilmerHale’s Corporate Practice and as vice chair of the Transactional Department. He is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section, including the Mergers and Acquisitions Committee, where he previously chaired the Subcommittee on M&A Market Trends. His representative clients include Akamai Technologies, Revvity (formerly PerkinElmer) and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
