Meredith B. Cross has been named the 2026 William O. Douglas Award recipient by the Association of Securities and Exchange Commission Alumni (ASECA), honoring her sustained leadership in securities regulation and service to the SEC community.
A leading voice in the securities bar, Cross previously led the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance, guiding the agency’s implementation of the Dodd‑Frank Act and the JOBS Act. Today, she counsels public companies and boards on high‑stakes disclosure, governance, financings, internal investigations, SEC enforcement and crisis response.
A lifetime member of ASECA, Ms. Cross has also played a meaningful role in preserving the SEC’s history. She served as Chair of the SEC Historical Society in 2025, continuing her longstanding commitment to supporting the securities regulatory community.
