WilmerHale is pleased to announce that Rupert Bondy, senior corporate executive and legal advisor, will join the firm as partner and co-chair of its Crisis Management and Strategic Response Group.
Drawing on his distinguished career as the general counsel at leading multinational corporations, Bondy will guide WilmerHale’s clients through high-stakes crises and investigations. Bondy will be based in the firm’s London office, underscoring the firm’s strategic growth in this important legal market.
Bondy brings rare expertise and understanding of governance and risk management at the highest levels, with few practitioners in the world comparing in experience. Bondy has shepherded legal and strategic response strategies for some of the largest and most complex matters of the past two decades. His breadth of work includes serving as Chief Legal Officer at UnitedHealth Group, leading all legal, compliance, and corporate governance matters for one of the largest health care companies in the world. He has served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for global consumer health company, Reckitt, and as Group General Counsel at BP. Prior to these roles, Bondy spent over a decade at pharmaceutical and biotechnology giant GSK, including serving as General Counsel for seven years.

Bondy earned his BA from King’s College and was a Harkness Fellow at Harvard University. He was a teaching fellow at Stanford Law school and is qualified as a lawyer in both the US and UK.
