On November 22, 2021, Focus Financial Partners Inc., a leading investor in independent, fiduciary wealth management firms, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement under which Derby and Company, Inc., a registered investment adviser, will join Focus partner firm The Colony Group, LLC. The transaction is expected to close later this year, subject to customary closing conditions.

The merger enables Derby and Company to leverage The Colony Group’s operational infrastructure and provide more wealth management services to its clients. In turn, it will also help The Colony Group to increase its presence in New England.
