In the interview, Mr. Muck recalled how the couple, while working on an investigation, urged a client not to hold back out of fear of offending them if the client felt any discomfort about having the married couple handling the matter.

“He laughed and said, ‘Are you kidding? I know that the two of you are going to be talking to each other about this matter all the time and you’re not going to be billing for it. I feel like I’m getting the best bargain imaginable.’

“‘He was right,’” Ms. Muck quipped.
