WilmerHale Advises Grist in its Acquisition of Pacific Standard’s Assets

Client News

WilmerHale advised Grist, the nation’s leading environmental media organization, in its acquisition of the digital archives and brand assets of Pacific Standard, an online magazine covering social and environmental justice that closed in August 2019. Pacific Standard combined rigorous reporting and narrative journalism with peer-reviewed research to cover social and environmental justice. Grist, an award-winning online publication that focuses on climate solutions, shares Pacific Standard’s commitment to environmental justice. The Pacific Standard assets were transferred to Grist by Pacific Standard’s publisher, The Social Justice Foundation, because of the desire for the content to continue to be available online through the stewardship of a mission-aligned news organization.

WilmerHale lawyers Hal Leibowitz and Jonathan Jones advised Grist on the transaction.
