World Congress: The 12th Annual Patents for Financial Services Summit

Speaking Engagement

WilmerHale is a sponsor of the 12th Annual Patents for Financial Services Summit on July 22-23 in New York. The summit convenes in-house legal executives within the financial services industry, patent attorneys, outside counsel and prosecutors to learn and discuss strategies to protect patents in light of the recent Supreme Court rulings on patent eligibility.

On the first day of the conference, WilmerHale Partner Monica Grewal will be moderating the panel "Understanding the Effects of Covered Business Method Proceedings on District Court Litigation – Lessons from the First Three Years of the AIA Post-Grant Proceedings." The panelists include WilmerHale Partner Greg Lantier; Pamela Crocker, Chief Patent Counsel of The Vanguard Group; Natalie Moritz, Senior Counsel-Litigation of PNC Bank; and Eulonda Skyles, Assistant General Counsel of Capital One. The group will discuss:

  • identifying strategies for effective use of CBM proceedings;
  • exploring litigation stays pending CBM review – trial and appellate court decisions;
  • hearing about estoppel considerations and lessons learned from the PTAB's CBM and IPR decisions; and
  • gaining a legislative update on the CBM program.
