The 2008 WilmerHale Employment Law Update

Speaking Engagement
Join us for the annual WilmerHale Employment Law Update, where lawyers from our US offices will examine the important developments that have shaped employment law in the past year and discuss what employers should be aware of as we enter 2009. We will focus on the importance of properly structuring and classifying the workforce. Specifically, we will discuss: (i) the new groundbreaking Massachusetts Triple Damages Law for wage and hour violations; (ii) the explosion of wage and hour litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act in the the proper classification of employees as exempt or non-exempt and traps for the unwary in this area; and (iii) the current state of Independent Contractor Law, including a recent advisory from the Massachusetts Attorney General's office.
