Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP together with Nishith Desai Associates, the US–India Business Council and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) are pleased to invite you to a program on effective mechanisms for resolving disputes arising out of investments and transactions in India.
With the dramatic increase in trade and commerce between the US and India, it has become more important than ever for parties to understand the complex issues surrounding the use of international arbitration for resolving disputes related to India. Mr. Vyapak Desai (Partner, Nishith Desai Associates) will discuss recent government initiatives intended to "ease doing business in India" including by improving the effectiveness of international arbitration as a dispute resolution mechanism for Indian disputes and will consider the past, present, and future of arbitrations involving Indian parties and investments.
Mr. Gary Born (Partner and Chair, International Arbitration Group, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP), one of the world’s preeminent authorities on international arbitration and the President of the SIAC Court of Arbitration, will also be on hand to discuss, together with Ms. Lim Seok Hui (CEO, SIAC and SIMC), what makes SIAC one of the world’s finest and leading arbitral institutions, including recent SIAC initiatives to reduce time and costs in SIAC arbitrations.
