Boston University School of Law: Law & Startups

Speaking Engagement
Boston University’s Business Law Society successfully held its inaugural event, Law and Startups on April 19. The panel consisted of BU Law alumni and WilmerHale Partner Mick Bain (’93). Panelists discussed wearing multiple hats as legal counselors and business advisers to a full range of startup, emerging and public company clients. The panelists shared their thoughts on cleantech; Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram; the future of shared space; the importance of IP; awareness of “what do you own and who owns you;” the future and relevance of Crowd Funding with the JOBS Act; and other changes in the start-up ecosystem.
