Partners Stephanie Avakian, Chair of the firm’s Securities and Financial Services Department, and Jamie Gorelick, Chair of the firm’s Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, will speak on the panel “Crisis-Ready: A Director’s Role in Preparation and Response” on October 13 at 4 p.m. at the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Directors Summit 2025 in Washington DC.
Gorelick was also recently named one of NACD’s most influential leaders in corporate governance, and this panel will explore the critical role that board directors play in crisis response and preparation. From navigating regulatory scrutiny to managing reputational fallout, panelists will share candid insights and real-world strategies that empower board directors to lead with clarity, resilience and authority when it matters most.
Partner Alan Wilson will also serve as a panelist during the “Audit Committee Workshop (led by KPMG)” workshop on October 12. These two sessions will focus on challenges facing audit committees in the current environment, with speakers discussing current thinking on the SEC’s priorities, policies, and agenda under new leadership, along with implications for audit committee oversight.
