Partner Jonathan Lim will take part in a virtual course on “International Arbitration in Practice," presented by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of The Law Society of Singapore. The course will be conducted over four sessions and is designed to equip attendees with practical skills and knowledge needed to participate confidently and effectively in international arbitration proceedings. Attendees will learn from experienced practitioners from both local and international law firms and chambers as they share insights into international arbitration in practice, and put participants' skills into practice with class discussions and exercises.

The session will cover:

  • A comparison of different legal traditions, cultures and approaches to contentious proceedings
  • The rules of ethics, professional conduct and privilege applicable to lawyers from different jurisdictions in international arbitration
  • Tips for working productively with co-counsel from different jurisdictions
  • Maximizing persuasiveness when arbitrating before international tribunals
