Partner Lauren Mandell will speak at Penn Carey Law International Arbitration Association’s 7th Annual Conference on Friday, March 21, 2025. This year’s conference, titled “Arbitration and Courts in the Face of Change: Addressing the Pressing Issues of Our Time,” will feature leading experts discussing how courts and arbitral proceedings are adapting to the critical challenges shaping the modern legal landscape, such as climate change, geopolitical tensions and emerging industries.

Mr. Mandell will join the panel “The Effect of Geopolitical Turmoil and Rising Authoritarianism on the Efficacy of Arbitration,” taking place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET. The panelists will explore how rising authoritarianism, economic sanctions and shifting power dynamics are reshaping arbitration and the challenges this poses to enforcement, neutrality and procedural integrity.
