WilmerHale Partner Michael Leotta moderated and spoke at this year's ABA/ABA Financial Crimes Enforcement Conference, which took place on November 27–30, 2023. Mr. Leotta's panels included:

  • Moderated "Avoiding Enforcement Actions by Learning From Recent Past," a panel designed to help you modify your current AML program by providing an exploration of recent and impactful enforcement action cases and how to avoid a similar fate;
  • Moderated "Off-Channel Communications: Managing Employee Use of Personal Devices for Work-Related Communications," a panel that reviewed what qualifies as business communications and what is expected in terms of documenting communications and how to set up monitoring and controls to avoid violations; and
  • Spoke on " Convergence of AML and Fraud Controls: Thinking Through Opportunities and Obstacles in a FRAML Approach," a panel that explored opportunities, identify synergies and efficiencies that come from a holistic strategy that combines both fraud and AML prevention, controls, and compliance.
