With the most IPOs in two decades, an unprecedented number of SPAC merger and business combinations, and the continued emergence of the direct listing as an alternative path to liquidity, public exits enjoyed a banner year in 2021. Although the market has cooled considerably, many private companies are targeting a public exit as market conditions improve.
