The IAA’s annual Investment Adviser Compliance Conference is a comprehensive two-day program that provides investment advisers with the most current information available on the changing regulatory landscape. The conference covers a wide range of compliance issues, both in plenary sessions and in numerous breakout sessions.
WilmerHale Partner Jonathan Cedarbaum will speak during the panel "Combatting Common Cybersecurity Threats/Data Privacy Developments. Panelists will discuss recent cyber-related SEC enforcement cases and what SEC enforcement staff looks for in investigations. Participants can refresh their understanding of regulatory requirements, and learn strategies to help avoid becoming victims to some of today’s most common cyber threats, including spear phishing attacks, domain spoofing, viruses and malware. They will also gain insights into mobile device management, encryption, remote/home office IT security and digital voice assistants. The panel will also update attendees on ongoing privacy protection issues, including GDPR implementation and developing laws “inspired” by GDPR, explain the application of the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 to investment advisers, and discuss Reg S-P and relevant state law developments.
