This event focuses on legal issues of international dispute settlement as related to territorial disputes and the protection of investments and other interests. The first session will focus on disputes related to the protection of investments in the context of territorial disputes. It will touch upon issues related treaty succession, foreign direct investments in occupied territories and rights of investors. The second panel will deal with territorial disputes in the context of the law of the sea and the decisions of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. The speakers, coming from academia and legal practice, will reflect on the specific issues as well as the broader trends in the field of international dispute settlement.
