This program will begin by establishing a foundation for participants concerning data security and privacy laws, regulations, and best practices for financial institutions and others in the financial industry. This will include Gramm-Leach-Bliley requirements, state data breach laws and much more. The program will then build upon that foundation with an update on recent cyber and privacy developments.
WilmerHale has been accredited by the New York State and California State Continuing Legal Education Boards as a provider of continuing legal education. This program is being planned with the intention to offer CLE credit in California and non-transitional CLE credit in New York. This program, therefore, is not approved for New York newly admitted attorneys. Attorneys in England and Wales may also claim unaccredited CPD credit for attending this program. WilmerHale is not an accredited provider of North Carolina or Nebraska CLE, but we have applied for approval in these states. We will also apply for credit in DE, FL, GA, IL, MO, OH, OR, TX and VA if there are any requests for credit in these states. The type and amount of credit awarded will be determined solely by those state CLE Boards. New Jersey will grant reciprocal credit for programs that are approved in other jurisdictions and attorneys in CO and WI can apply for reciprocal credit. We will issue New York certificates of attendance to anyone requesting credit in NJ, CO or WI. Attendees requesting CLE credit must attend the entire program.
