Shmidt, Vera

Vera Shmidt advises clients on intellectual property and policy matters. She has experience with patent drafting and prosecution, reexaminations, interferences, trademark, and trade secret protection, and IP portfolio development. Ms. Shmidt also has interdisciplinary experience in technology transfer and licensing, litigation, sponsored and collaborative research agreements, and IP-related due diligence.

Ms. Shmidt handles matters for a variety of technology areas, including chemical engineering, electronics, IoT, materials science, medical devices and imaging, and wireless communications. 

Prior to joining WilmerHale, Ms. Shmidt was an associate at a law firm in Boston, MA and a law firm in Chicago, IL. She focused on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent reexamination and prosecution, patent and trade secret litigation, freedom to operate analysis, and portfolio development and management.
