Reed Abrahamson

Reed Abrahamson counsels clients on a wide range of privacy and data security issues arising under international, federal and state regulatory regimes, including Section 5 of the FTC Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act. 

Mr. Abrahamson advises clients on identifying compliance obligations and managing risk through appropriate policies and contractual arrangements. He helps clients draft and modify customer and consumer-facing privacy policies and statements, and works with clients on contractual arrangements in a variety of contexts and industries. He has helped clients retain service providers and enter into arrangements with customers. Mr. Abrahamson is qualified as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Abrahamson worked as an associate at another Washington DC firm, where he also counseled clients on compliance with privacy and data security laws and regulations in business operations, including marketing, research, human resources and other commercial activities. He also assisted with the management of life sciences industry consortia focused on science, law and technology development.
