Over the past 12 months, WilmerHale has welcomed a distinguished group of senior lawyers from diverse positions in government, business and private practice.

Litigation/Controversy

Trevor Cook is a partner in the Litigation/Controversy Department and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. Mr. Cook has more than 35 years of experience in global patent litigation, particularly in Europe and Asia, and is widely regarded as one of Europe's foremost practitioners of transnational intellectual property litigation.

Quentin Palfrey is a special counsel in the Litigation/Controversy Department who focuses his practice on complex intellectual property litigation matters. Before joining the firm, Mr. Palfrey was most recently Senior Advisor for Jobs & Competitiveness in the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy from 2011 to 2013.

Intellectual Property

Jason D. Kipnis is a partner in the Intellectual Property Department and brings to the firm more than 18 years of experience in private practice. Mr. Kipnis joined WilmerHale in 2013 from the Silicon Valley office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he was a partner and managed the office's IP counseling practice.

Regulatory and Government Affairs

Bruce S. Manheim, Jr., is a partner in the Litigation/Controversy and Regulatory and Government Affairs Departments, and a member of the Investigations and Criminal Litigation, Government and Regulatory Litigation, Life Sciences, and Strategic Response Groups. He brings to the firm more than 30 years of regulatory, legislative and litigation experience involving theĀ  life sciences and FDA regulation.

Ken Salazar is a partner in the firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, a member of the Strategic Response and Environmental Practices, and a member of the Energy and Cleantech Group. Mr. Salazar is a former US Secretary of the Interior, US Senator, and Attorney General for the state of Colorado.

Heather S. Tewksbury is a partner in the firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department and a member of the Antitrust and Competition Practice. Ms. Tewksbury joined the firm in 2014 after serving as a trial attorney in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice in San Francisco.

Jonathan R. Yarowsky is a partner in the firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, a member of the Strategic Response and Antitrust and Competition Practices, and chair of the firm's Legislative Affairs and Public Policy Practice. His past senior-level positions in federal government include Special Counsel to former President Clinton and General Counsel of the House Committee on the Judiciary.

Securities | Litigation/Controversy

Matthew T. Martens is a partner in the Securities and Litigation/Controversy Departments. Mr. Martens joined WilmerHale after serving as Chief Litigation Counsel for the Division of Enforcement at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, where he led the Enforcement Division's litigation program.

Securities

Dan M. Berkovitz is a partner in the Securities and Regulatory and Government Affairs Departments. Mr. Berkovitz joined WilmerHale after more than 30 years of government service in the US Senate and several key US governmental agencies, including the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the US Department of Energy, and the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Mark D. Cahn is a partner in the Securities and Litigation/Controversy Departments. Mr. Cahn rejoined the firm after serving as General Counsel at the US Securities and Exchange Commission from 2011 to 2013, and as the SEC's Deputy General Counsel for Litigation and Adjudication from 2009 to 2011.

Transactional

Lillian Brown is a partner in the Transactional and Securities Departments and a member of the Corporate Practice. Ms. Brown joined WilmerHale from the US Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Corporation Finance, where she had worked since 1999.

Meredith Cross is a partner in the Transactional and Securities Departments and a member of the Corporate Practice. Ms. Cross rejoined the firm in 2013 after having served as the Director of the Division of Corporation Finance of the US Securities and Exchange Commission since 2009.

David D. Gammell is a partner in the Transactional Department and a member of the Corporate Practice. Mr. Gammell has more than 15 years of experience representing clients in the areas of corporate counseling, venture capital, intellectual property strategy, licensing and strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and international transactions.

Richard Hoffman is a partner in the Transactional Department and a member of the Corporate Practice and Life Sciences Group. Mr. Hoffman rejoined the firm in 2013, bringing with him more than 25 years of corporate, legal and business development experience in the life sciences industry.

Edwin C. Pease is a partner in the Transactional Department and a member of the Corporate Practice. Mr. Pease has more than 15 years of experience representing emerging companies operating in high technology industries from formation to exit.

Jennifer A. Zepralka is a partner in the Transactional and Securities Departments and a member of the Corporate Practice. She rejoined the firm in 2013 after having served as Senior Special Counsel to the Director of the Division of Corporation Finance of the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
