Michael Greene is a senior associate who focuses his practice on complex litigation matters.

Past Experience

As a summer associate with WilmerHale, Mr. Greene analyzed and developed defenses against asserted patents in a high-profile smartphone patent litigation. He also drafted a biotech licensing agreement.

Mr. Greene was a legal intern during law school for an intellectual property-focused boutique law firm, where he drafted and filed multiple arbitration actions and prevailed against various online cybersquatters. He also researched patent licensing issues and developed a defense strategy for a client threatened by a litigious non-practicing entity patent holder.

He also served as a legal intern with the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General and with a law firm, where he drafted a provisional patent application and assisted in litigation regarding digital television patents.



Previously, Mr. Greene was a senior software engineer with NDS Limited. He developed the Electronic Programming Guide for DVRs for leading European satellite broadcasters, with lead development responsibility for time shifting, hard disk recording and conflict resolution mechanisms. He has also developed software for various other companies, with a focus on systems control algorithms and real-time programming for mobile and embedded devices.

Mr. Greene earned his bachelor’s degree in physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He authored his thesis on nuclear physics, traveling to the pulsed neutron beam of Los Alamos National Laboratory to conduct experimental measurements of pion and gamma ray production reactions.

Community Involvement

Mr. Greene serves as a Cub Scout den leader and an Eagle Scout, and is the volunteer boys choir director for a school in Brookline. He is also an accomplished student of Talmudic legal scholarship and enjoys playing classical and jazz piano and clarinet.

On June 19, WilmerHale obtained a favorable final judgment in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey for Braintree Laboratories, Inc. (Braintree) in its patent infringement case against Novel Laboratories (Novel).
