I like working with startups because I get to work directly with founders who are always very creative, very smart and very excited.
Experience: I work with startups on their tax and executive compensation matters, helping them understand how taxes impact their business and the things that they should be thinking about as they're moving forward. I help companies with corporate transactions, including taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and lending and financing transactions. I also work with partnerships and LLCs on formation, investments, and transactions. I also have experience with executive compensation matters, including equity compensation, incentive plans and golden parachute issues.
Off the clock: I try to do the New York Times crossword puzzle every day. I also have a dog, and spend time with him and my family. On weekends, I like to go to Maine whenever I can, particularly during the summer.
Favorite Books: I love a good mystery; the Inspector Gamache series by Louise Penny is a favorite of mine. I also really loved Bel Canto by Ann Patchett and Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr.
