
Tasha J. Bahal
Counsel
Tasha Bahal's trial practice focuses on complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts, and her appellate practice spans both civil and criminal matters in the state and federal appeals courts. Ms. Bahal has experience working on a wide variety of litigation and appellate matters, and has counseled numerous clients on issues including contract law, civil procedure, constitutional law, criminal law, financial regulatory matters, patent infringement, tort law and trade secret misappropriation.
Recent Highlights:
- Successfully defended large insurance company in arbitration proceedings involving various contract and tort claims.
- Successfully defended appeal brought in “Gamergate” controversy.
- Successfully defended luxury car maker against protest establishing new dealership location.
- Conducting enterprise-wide review of signing and notary practices at a major financial institution involving a wide range of documents across multiple businesses.
Ms. Bahal also has an active pro bono practice.
Experience
Ms. Bahal served as a Special District Attorney in the Middlesex District Attorney's Office from October 2013–April 2014, where she prosecuted cases involving violent crimes, financial fraud and many other offenses. Previously, Ms. Bahal served as a law clerk to Justice Margot Botsford of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.
During law school, Ms. Bahal completed internships for the Honorable Chief Justice Mark L. Wolf of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and in Governor Deval Patrick's Office of Legal Counsel. She also completed a Rappaport Fellowship where she researched the legal implications of municipal healthcare reform in the City of Somerville, Massachusetts and proposed recommendations for reducing the municipality's healthcare expenditures.
