Robert A. Schwed

Retired Partner

Robert Schwed joined the firm in 2002 and retired as a partner in 2015. With more than 35 years of experience in private equity, Mr. Schwed built a substantial practice working with private equity firms and their portfolio companies in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. With his extensive experience and knowledge of a wide range of transactions, Mr. Schwed successfully represented a variety of clients, including industrial, financial services, healthcare, retail, and media and communications companies.

Mr. Schwed represented venture capital and buyout firms and other institutional investors in equity and debt investments, public and private buyout transactions and workouts, recapitalizations and other restructurings. He also acted as general counsel to private equity firms, including advising firms seeking to raise investment capital from institutional investors.

Professional Activities

Mr. Schwed was an adjunct professor at George Washington University School of Law, where he taught a course in venture capital law.
