Raj Chakraborty focuses his practice on intellectual property and litigation matters. His work centers on high‑tech patent disputes involving artificial intelligence, machine learning, wireless networking, telecommunications technologies including 5G, LTE, and MIMO, semiconductors, image processing and optics. He has litigated matters in federal district courts, before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), including inter partes review and post‑grant proceedings.

Prior to joining WilmerHale, Mr. Chakraborty practiced as an IP litigation associate at global law firms, where he represented major electronics, smartphone, streaming cloud and wireless networking companies in multi‑patent infringement actions. His experience includes drafting inter partes review petitions and ex parte reexamination requests, preparing invalidity contentions and non‑infringement analyses, reviewing source code, working with expert witnesses, developing claim construction positions, and drafting motions in district court and PTAB proceedings.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Chakraborty served at the US Patent & Trademark Office as a Supervisory Patent Examiner and Special Cases Examiner, managing an art unit and examining technically and legally complex matters involving artificial intelligence, machine learning, image processing and wireless telecommunications. He began his professional career in the US Army as an electronics specialist and linguist.
