
Peter G. Machtiger
Associate
Peter Machtiger counsels clients on cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory risks, and assists clients with internal investigations and strategic response. His writing on cybersecurity, privacy, and national security law and policy has appeared in Just Security, the Harvard National Security Journal, the NYU Journal of Legislation and Public Policy, and the NYU Wagner Review. Mr. Machtiger maintains a Certified Information Privacy Professional certification in US privacy law (CIPP/US).
Mr. Machtiger was previously a summer associate at WilmerHale. Prior to rejoining the firm, he clerked for the Honorable Karen K. Caldwell of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. During law school, Mr. Machtiger was a legal intern at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and a judicial extern for the Honorable Kenneth K. Lee of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Before law school, he was an infantry officer in the US Marine Corps.
