Jeff Wieand focuses on government relations and developing and implementing strategies to help clients achieve their objectives in Congress. With more than a decade of experience on Capitol Hill, Mr. Wieand understands how to navigate the legislative process, and successfully address the challenges of today’s policy and political environment. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wieand served for more than five and a half years as counsel to House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA). As counsel, Mr. Wieand was Congressman Scalise’s primary aide covering legislation and matters before the House Committees on the Judiciary, Financial Services, Energy and Commerce, and Education and Labor. He provided in-depth policy expertise to the Whip, members, and staff focusing on a wide-ranging policy portfolio including telecommunications, competition, banking, intellectual property, regulatory reform, immigration, energy, education and labor policy.  In support of the Whip Office’s vote counting efforts and the House Republican Conference’s legislative agenda, Mr. Wieand advised committee and leadership offices on legislative and communications strategies and assisted coalition building efforts through engagement with a wide scope of stakeholders among the business community, trade associations and issue advocacy groups. 

Mr. Wieand also previously served as a Legislative Director & Counsel for then Congressman Tom Marino (R-PA), and lead policy aide for him as Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial, and Antitrust Law. Mr. Wieand also worked in several other capacities on Capitol Hill, including as legislative counsel to then Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (R-PA), as a legal fellow for the Senate Judiciary Committee and on the staff for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
