Gemma Bateman focuses on complex litigation. She joined WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2018.

Ms. Bateman’s professional experience includes serving as a judicial extern for Judge Richard M. Gergel in the US District Court for the District of South Carolina and conducting client in-take at the Elder Justice Unit of Bet Tzedek Legal Services in Los Angeles. She has also held internships at Blue Valley Community Action in Nebraska and in the Nebraska Secretary of State’s Office. 

While at USC’s Gould School of Law, Ms. Bateman served as president of the Environmental & Energy Law Society and volunteered with the International Refugee Assistance Project. She was also a legal writing fellow with the school’s Legal Writing and Advocacy Program.
