Chisom Nwakama focuses her practice on complex intellectual property matters with a specific focus on patents. She joined WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2023. 

During law school, Ms. Nwakama was a legal intern in the Intellectual Property Group at a large pharmaceutical company in New Jersey. She drafted and filed patent applications and conducted prior art and patentability searches. She served as a student counselor at the Detkin Intellectual Property and Technology Legal Clinic. She also worked as a legal extern at the Wistar Institute and the University of Pennsylvania. Before attending law school, she held multiple research assistant roles in physics and chemistry at a research group based in Nebraska and at her undergraduate university.
