Alex Daniel represents clients in energy, environment and natural resource matters. He helps clients navigate federal and state environmental permitting requirements, including those related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (NHPA). 

Mr. Daniel has experience shepherding clients through government investigations brought by federal regulators and is well-versed in conducting environmental due diligence for corporate transactions. He also advises clients on environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics, including responses to shareholder proposals, conducting ESG-related audits and helping clients mitigate enforcement and litigation risk.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Daniel was a student attorney at Harvard Law School where he worked with Native American tribes and Massachusetts nonprofits. He also oversaw and established an environmental program at the Regional Organization for Peace, Economics & Security.
