We are pleased to announce that Senior Counsel Dennis Flannery is this year’s recipient of the “Jerome P. Facher Award for Excellence” in Training, while Partner Robert Tuchmann is the recipient of WilmerHale’s “Mentor of the Year Award.” Both awards support and celebrate WilmerHale’s strong belief in the guidance and mentoring of junior attorneys.

Each year, the Jerome P. Facher “Award for Excellence in Training,” named after Senior Counsel Jerome Facher, is given to one partner who has shown an exceptional commitment to professional development and training. Dennis Flannery has played a vital role in the teaching of other attorneys. To name just a few contributions, Flannery assisted in the creation of training programs such as the DC Oral Communications Workshop as well as the Litigation Training Program in which Washington lawyers have participated throughout the years.

The “Mentor of the Year Award” is given to one partner who has made it a priority to provide general career guidance and professional development advice to junior attorneys. When presented with the award, Robert Tuchmann was described as a mentor, explainer and a teacher. He is said to constantly encourage those he helps with their professional growth and learning.
