The American Lawyer A-List: WilmerHale Receives High Marks

Firm News

In its July 2010 issue, The American Lawyer named WilmerHale to the A-List for the seventh year since the list’s inception in 2003. The firm climbed seven spots in the rankings, putting it in the fifth slot on the list of the nation’s 20 most elite law firms.

The A-List is a rundown of the nation’s top-tier elite law firms and is considered to be The American Lawyer’smost significant ranking. It is comprised of the top 20 US law firms, which are identified based on four areas of measurement: financial performance, pro bono commitment, associate satisfaction and diversity.

“We are pleased with WilmerHale’s inclusion in this year’s A-List,” said Co-Managing Partner William Lee. “Given the economic constraints faced by most, if not all, industries during the past couple of years, it is gratifying to see the firm remain competitive and represented among the very best law firms in the nation. The A-List is a helpful indicator of our success in defining and achieving the balance that is correct for our firm community.”

The American Lawyer has also published its annual Pro Bono listing, in which WilmerHale moved up one spot in the rankings to eighth among the AmLaw 100 firms. This ranking is based on the average pro bono hours per lawyer and the percentage of lawyers with more than 20 pro bono hours last year.
