Lloyd Cutler was mentioned in The Washington Post ("Filling Federal Bench Slots Taking Longer Than Ever: Report Blames White House, Senate, Both Parties," September 23, 1999, p. A27) and the National Journal ("LEGAL AFFAIRS: Why It's Getting Harder To Appoint Judges," October 2, 1999), in connection with his co-chairmanship of Citizens for Independent Courts, a bipartisan group which recently issued a report calling upon both Senators and the President to expedite the process of federal bench nominations and Senate action.
