Jennifer O’Connor Receives “Gideon Champion of Justice” Award for Victory in Tankleff Pro Bono Case

On January 31, 2008, WilmerHale Partner Jennifer M. O’Connor received the "Gideon Champion Of Justice" award from the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers at its Annual Dinner Meeting in Manhattan. This award was given to O’Connor and four other individuals—Stephen L. Braga of Baker Botts, Barry J. Pollack of Kelley Drye Collier Shannon, Bruce Barket of Barket Angeli and Jay Salpeter—for their 12 year-long joint pro bono effort in securing a reversal of their client Martin Tankleff's wrongful conviction for the murders of his parents in 1988.
